I keep hearing 40 is the new 20, but I don't want to be 20. Here's why:

(There are a lot of cool things I miss about my 20s, but that's another list!) ***Comments welcome!***
  1. I was really naive. Not in a sweet, charming way, but in a bad decision-making way
  2. I didn't know how to be a good friend (in large part due to my upbringing)
  3. I was neither aware, nor able to communicate my needs in a healthy way (e.g. I would hold things in and later explode, I believed confrontation was bad)
  4. I was focused on the future, sometimes at the expense of appreciating the present
(It seems as we get older, we start focusing on the past. I wonder when and why that shift happens.)
  5. I took myself a little too seriously
  6. I worried too much about unrealistic or improbable consequences
  7. I spent the first half of my 20s expecting men to add value and happiness to my life. It didn't help that Jerry Maguire came out at the start of my 20s. I lived by, "You complete me."
