HOW WELL THE DIY FRUIT FLY CATCHER IS DOING IN MY HOME (#firstworldproblem)

After repotting an African Violet this weekend with some old dirt from the garage, fruit flies have appeared in the house. I finally googled how to get rid of them, and came across several links with a DIY contraption of cider vinegar and fruit, and a cone shaped piece of paper. Here are my updates. Stay tuned for more updates.
  1. 7:30am. The trap is set. Had to find the tallest glass possible because damn, 8.5x11 paper in a cone shape is tall! Fruit flies buzzing to the right of this picture.
  2. 6:30 pm. Zero fruit flies caught.
  3. 7:45am day 2. The banana is looking a bit worse for wear. ONE FRUIT FLY CAUGHT!!!!! Well one out of 100 still buzzing nearby. Damn DIY crap.
