Here is an audible tour through my subconscious psyche, including but not limited to ethereal floating, total confusion, high anxiety, tense repetition, fear of death and space. Thank you @maya for your ingeniously fun request! Playlist here:
  1. Things That Dreams Are Made Of - Instrumental - The League Unlimited Orchestra.
Here's an easy intro to the list of things my dreams are made of.
  2. It's Choade My Dear - Conan Mockasin.
In this video Conan is wearing a yellow jumpsuit and wearing lemons over his eyes while floating down a stream. There are bizarre chirping sounds and the whole thing sounds half underwater half alien and wholly surreal.
  3. Sleepwalking Through the Mekong - Dengue Fever.
Psychedelic beautiful Cambodian singing with soft guitars and flutes. Not knowing where you are or understanding what anyone is saying, but enjoying the mystery for what it is.
  4. I Hear a New World - Television Personalities
    Space. Other Planets. Alien Voices.
  5. As The Clouds Drift By - Jayne Mansfield
This is the last of the creamy dreamy before we spiral out. This seemed necessary because it rings full David Lynch in its sweet creepiness.
  6. Strawberry Letter 23 - The Brothers Johnson.
This song is totally of the dream funk genre. And if that isn't a genre yet or even if it is someone needs to make a list of dream funk songs.
  7. Ça Plane Pour Moi - Plastic Bertrand
Now everything is super fast and hectic and nobody knows what's going on but its all just happening and it's happening in French, and where did that half zebra half snake come from and why does everyone think it's totally normal?
  8. Nightclubbing - Iggy Pop.
This song always reminded me of lurkers and creepers in the night. Desirable seediness. Subversive subculture gang mentality. That scene in the movie when you're in a weird nightclub and it's smoky and everyone looks like an unfriendly stranger and something super weird is about to happen.
  9. Lady Shave - Fad Gadget
And then something super weird happens and you are dancing with an unidentified androgynous person to the coolest song ever.
  10. Chicken Shit - Black Dice.
Full fucking insanity, running in circles, trying to stop an incoming train, save someone as they jump off a skyscraper, cars crashing in front of you, things blowing up. And your second grade teacher is there too, talking to Robert De Neiro. Weird.
  11. ...And More - Can.
Tense repetition. Over and over again. Forever. The one where you know even in your dream you have to wake yourself up just to shut it up. Luckily the song itself is awesome and just short enough that you don't get to that point.
  12. Always Crashing in the Same Car - David Bowie.
"I saw you peeping, as I pushed my foot down to the floor. I was going round and round the hotel garage, must have been touching close to 94. Oh but I'm always crashing in the same car." There is a Bowie song for every playlist, this I know.
  13. Pink Frost - The Chills
This song is about a guy watching a girl die in front of him. I have these terrible scenarios play out constantly and the understanding of the repercussions that my life will never the same again. "How can I live when they've seen what I've done?" Exactly.
  14. Leader of the Pack - The Shangri-La's.
In a similar vein but even more dreamlike because of the dramatics. Look out look out!
  15. It's Time to Wake Up - 2023 - La Femme.
    It was all a dream!
