Things I'm Into This Week
The week of May 15th, 2016
- •MOVIE: Ferris Bueller's Day OffA tradition at this point, at the end of every school year this film must be watched. I'm still shocked there are people that haven't seen this movie. I've always felt connected to Cameron Frye with his insecurities, and struggles. The catharsis that comes from seeing that Cherry Red Ferrari 250 GT fly out of the garage window is something I think about often. LET MY CAMERON GO
- •MUSIC: School Of Rock (Original Cast Recording)A true return to form for ALW with this rocking show. Has all the Broadway flair and killer top notes of Jesus Christ Superstar while maintaining the hilarious nature of the source film.
- •TV: ABC's Miniseries MadoffRichard Dreyfuss is clearly having a ball in this four-part installment that chronicles the largest Ponzi scheme in US history. Told through the eyes of Bernard L. Madoff, it is an unsettling look at the inner workings of white collar crime, family dynamics and what trust truly means.
- •PERSON: Michael DoshierMy amazing and beautiful friend Michael came to town this week. And while I know it was for many, many family oriented events, I still choose to believe he flew all the way down here just to sing Mamma Mia with me in my living room. He is one of the sweetest most genuine people I know and he and I getting closer is the best thing about 2016 so far.
