'ANTI-REFUGEE' IS NON-CHRISTIAN: 10 BIBLE PASSAGES THAT MAKE THAT CLEAR

This list has been in my drafts for just over a year. I'm not religious - MY God is information - BLESSED BE INFORMATION! I used online bibles to find what The Lord™ & squad said in their book re: helping the needy. I list the passage, then my interpretation(skip it, or read to find out why I, personally, chose that passage). HAPPY *HOLIDAYS*!✌️
  1. 1) Galatians 6:2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
  2. MY READ ON Galatians 6:2
In context (I read some passages around each of these & suspect that's way more than any barking, "Christian" politician) it tells Christians this: Help others who are having a hard time. Don't get sucked into evils (in this case focusing on fear, ego & death) - bear one another's burdens and help one another out of those hard times (see an opportunity to show gratitude for the bounty of your privilege- you don't *deserve* more than the burdened individual).
  3. 2) Psalms 82:4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
  4. MY READ ON Psalms 82:4
Does it really need context? This is a duh. If the weak and needy are being terrorized by the wicked - if Syrians are being terrorized by radical Islamic oppressors like ISIS - offer support for their rescue. Open your home - you don't have to put them in your guest room, but America has room.
  5. 3) Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, cast out demons. You received without paying; give without pay.
  6. MY READ ON Matthew 10:8
Are you Native American? If you answered 'no', your ancestors got over here fairly recently - perhaps escaping oppression & certainly looking for a new life. You didn't EARN the advantages that have allowed your opportunities. You were born into them. It's easier to make billions if you're not being oppressed in a war torn country. Syrians didn't choose to be born into their situation or have it rise around them. WE have all received without paying. Our choice to give should be easy.
  7. 4) James 1:27 Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
  8. MY READ ON James 1:27
I do not want to hear you mention your Christianity in any other context ever again if you are turning your back on orphans and widows. Doing a little math with this passage, that would mean both you, and the religion in your life, are DIRTY GARBAGE.
  9. 5) Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.
  10. MY READ ON Isaiah 1:17
Especially if you are a leader, or looking to be one, under the guise of Christian values, your platform should include the commitment to looking out for the weak - especially when they are running from terror. These words don't call to care for 'only certain orphans and widows' or 'if they are Christian' or 'already in your country'. Sometimes, the oppressed have no one to help them within their own borders & it's up to the good people of the world to rescue them.
  11. 6) Mark 12:31 You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
  12. MY READ ON Mark 12:31
Even non-religious people, like myself, know this one. And I know it doesn't mean I just need to have compassion for the Smiths next door even though their dog, Trevor, won't shut the fuck up (HE WON'T). That compassion must stretch to our 'neighbors' in countries, far away, who need our compassion. You don't need to see how the guy in a mansion next to you is like you - you need to stretch to connect with the basic humanity you share with a Syrian refugee, too.
  13. 7) Leviticus 19:9-10 'When you reap the harvest of your land, you shall not reap your field right up to its edge, neither shall you gather the gleanings after your harvest. And you shall not strip your vineyard bare, neither shall you gather the fallen grapes of your vineyard.
Continued>You shall leave them for the poor and for the sojourner: I am the Lord your God.
  14. MY READ ON Leviticus 19:9-10
Almost everyone can find something to give. These refugees have NO things. It's CRAZY that a "billionaire" who names the Bible as his 'favorite book' can't imagine how to share his scraps with terrorized orphans. It's easy to see that kind of greed is decidedly out of line with Christian values. If The Bible is Trump's favorite book, it's because he loves the word 'ye' or thin paper & not because he is any kind of exemplary Christian. He's more like a 2 yr old who is in a lifelong NO/MINE phase.
  15. 8) Matthew 6:2-4 '...when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you'
The full passage> Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
  16. MY READ ON Matthew 6:2-4
Not only should helping those in need be a no-brainer, as in all of this discussion of whether or not to help is ridiculous - but it should be SUCH a no-brainer that those doing the right thing should be able to do it quietly & automatically. Now, the issue of refugees is some big thing that even doing the right or 'Christian' thing is requiring sounding a trumpet over the ugly xenophobic, fear-mongering rhetoric, making those spreading it DOUBLE DEEP AHOLES. Again - just doing the math.
  17. 9) Isaiah 58:6-12 'share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house'
The full passage>Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the straps of the yoke, to let the oppressed go free, and to break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh? Then shall your light break forth like the dawn [...] And your righteousness will go before you; The glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
  18. MY READ ON Isaiah 58:6-12
As Christians you have chosen a path that asks you to always care for the less fortunate & in that, your fortune will be found. And actually- in the VERY FEW things (5?) that, through scientific research, have been proven to increase human happiness, volunteer work/helping less fortunate is one. Money/increased belongings or land - they don't make the cut, TRUMP. This book was onto something in this respect. Giving to the needy lights up your life. Being a raging butthole doesn't. Weird!
  19. 10) Matthew 6:24 'You cannot serve God and money.'
The full passage> No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.
  20. MY READ ON Matthew 6:24
Rand Paul invoked the inscription on the Statue of Liberty- “When the poem beneath the Statue of Liberty says ‘give me your tired, give me your poor,’ it didn't say come to our country and we'll put you on welfare." Billionaire Donald Trump doesn't want to share, either. None of them feel the choice is fiscally responsible. Even if that's true, it tells us you are serving money, not the Christian God. Which is fine - but shut the fuck up forever about your Christianity- your God is the dollar.
  21. ❗️NONE of the passages I found in a 'what the bible says about helping the needy' search turned up, encourage Christians to discriminate or fear the oppressed
NONE of these passages say 'discriminate when helping the needy' or 'but don't help those who don't believe in me'. The Lord™ believed practicing Christian values would encourage others to practice Christian values, or find Christianity. Remember? He was all like 'nah it's chill I'm going to peacefully die on this cross - it's good for the message' or whatevs. Unconditionally helping those escaping the 'wicked' is a Christian value. ANTI-REFUGEE CHRISTIAN IS AN OXYMORON, MORON.
  22. ‼️I don't WANT to be compelled to research bible passages to combat hatred from those claiming to be Christians
But I do want to be specific & assured in my combat. I think these concepts are easy to understand - even for Trump, who did claim the Bible is his favorite book. It isn't my favorite book, but I'll bet I've read WAY more of it in my life - just as literature, than he has. Speaking out with rhetoric in exact opposition to the words in this book says, "I am not a Christian" - which is fine. You don't have to be. But when you then also say "I'm a Christian" - it creates a glaring issue.
  23. ⁉️I would imagine many Christians, who do follow the teachings of the bible, would want to preserve their religion?
If so, you should be ¡VOCAL! when people - especially leaders, borrow the label for leverage, but fail to put it into practice. Stopping the erosion & irreparable spoiling of the perception of Christianity, is not my fight - but it's yours, if you want it.
  24. 💯I am not Christian, as I said, but it doesn't mean I don't agree with many of the lessons & values that the Bible attempts to communicate. I agree with these that I've listed.
  25. ❌(in Dec 2015 when I originally wrote this list, I didn't think Trump would be the nominee let alone President elect - but I focused on him, because he was making the worst comments. Of course, it all still works 😔😣😫)
