I have unintentionally read Maeve Binchy books more than once because there are just so damn many of them and they're all kind of the same. These are the books I've read more than once on purpose.
  1. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.
I swoon just thinking about it. Even though, in hindsight, theirs was a pretty messed up relationship.
  2. The Birth of Venus by Sarah Dunant
  3. The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbary
    Beautiful and heartbreaking.
  4. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
This book spoke to my inner 15 year old.
  5. The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
First on my own, then with each of my girls.
  6. Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper
My book of choice for cultivating empathy in 6th graders.
  7. The One and Only Ivan by KA Applegate
Read to my students. Cried every time.
  8. The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
    Again with the epic.
  9. Whatever David Sedaris Publishes
    Laugh Until It Hurts
