This is a rant, so please don't read if you don't want to read complaints. I have two years of resentment built up against the MBTA and my last day on the train is tomorrow so I'm letting it out in list form. :)

    The damn MBTA.
Worst transit system in the country. I liken them to Donald Trump. They treat people with no respect and any time hey are called out on their poor service, bad behavior or sketchy practices and lies, they shift the blame and try to make the commuters out to be the bad guys.
  2. β€’
    Tourists on he Commuter Rail.
For 2 years, tourists have been getting in the way when I've just been trying to get to work. I know they bring in revenue to the city but i wish they would be restricted to weekends.
  3. β€’
People falling asleep and leaning over onto me on the train. Then snoring.
    Incredibly awkward.

Boston to Los Angeles in 7 days, October 2001. A grad school friend had to move home to live with her parents because of a serious illness. Although it was for a sad reason, the trip was a whirlwind of fun.

My flight back to Boston tonight is delayed by 2 hours. I'll arrive one half hour after the last Logan Express shuttle so I finally had a reason to sign up for Uber. Somehow, I have fewer concerns about getting into a cab with a total stranger at 1:45am than I do with getting into an Uber car with a total stranger at 1:45am.

My family had dogs and cats throughout my childhood but my first pet as an adult was my basset hound, Betty.

My ex-boyfriend got her for my birthday. She was a 6 year old rescue.

A few months later, I got rid of the boyfriend and kept the the dog. Definitely one of my better decisions in life.

I listen to other people's problems for a living, so I'm all about movies that wrap up into a happy little package with a bow on top. In no particular order.

Boss: Alycia, why don't you leave at 3 today. You have a rather early flight out tomorrow morning.
  2. β€’
Me: Oh no, Betty, I want to stay until 5pm.

Woo Hoo - here's to great bosses who tell employees to leave early the day before their vacation!

    visit my grandmother.
I miss our Saturday's together when I would bring her to the hair dresser then out to lunch and shopping. Eleven years after she passed I still have dreams that she is alive and we're hanging out. Those are good dreams.

hug my basset hound, Betty, again. She was my first dog as an adult.
She was the most stubborn dog ever. I'd often have to pick up all 65lbs of her and carry her out of the middle of the street. If she didn't want to go in the direction I was leading her, she would go all flat basset on me.

    be nicer to my brother.
The minute he was born, my sister and I blamed everything on him.
  4. β€’
Other than being nicer to my brother. I don't think I'd change much, not even some of the disastrous decisions I've made. They've shaped who I am and increased my capacity for compassion. I would just relive the moments I cherish the most.
