These are the important Pop Culture milestones for Monday, September 19th
  1. 1928: The great Adam West was born. TV's Batman is 88 years old.
  2. 1952,: "The Adventures of Superman," starring George Reeves, debuted in syndication.
  3. 1970: "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" premiered on CBS. The series spawned 3 spinoff shows & won 29 Emmy Awards.
  4. 1989: The Library of Congress inducted the first 25 films to the new National Film Registry. "Citizen Kane," "Casablanca" and "Gone With the Wind" were among the films preserved.
  5. 1994: "ER" premiered on NBC. The medical drama won a total of 22 Emmy Awards.
    George Clooney had a recurring role on a CBS sitcom called "E/R" 10 years prior to his breakout role.
