Throughout the years, BYU has set its fair share of world records. Not all of them still stand, but here's three of our favorites:
  1. 1.
    Longest banana split.
Built in 1972, it took 280 gallons of ice cream and 2,400 bananas to make the 1,573 foot creation. Have no fear: the students are it in 15 minutes.
  2. 2.
    Biggest water balloon fight.
3,927 students. 120,021 weather balloons. Six minutes of water filled mayhem. 2010 was a good year to be a Cougar.
  3. 3.
    Largest cake in the world.
In 1968, homecoming inspired students to create a six ton cake, setting a world record. Five feet high, six feet wide, and forty feet long, all distributed to fans at the BYU Football game.
