MOVIE TRAILERS THAT WERE BETTER THAN THE MOVIE

Movie trailers that got you so amped where your only thought was "there's no way this could be bad!" NOTE: These don't have to be the worst films ever made, just considered a disappointment compared to their trailer.
  1. Joy (2015)
The teaser is so perfect it's so disappointing at how dreadful I found the film. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SN4MLMHET7w
  2. Man of Steel (2013)
I loved how much emotion this trailer packed into it but the movie itself seemed to lack it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqgv1Qz1at4
  3. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
This is the classic "good trailer bad movie" example. The hype probably added a lot to this, but the trailer looks fun and exciting where most people would argue the movie wasn't. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sYkHD9y8EqI
  4. Only God Forgives (2013)
This trailer basically is the movie but it's more fun to watch when it's only 2 mins. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bVvpreSkR4U
  5. Godzilla (2014)
I can't remember what I didn't like about the movie that much (because it wasn't that memorable) but I remember really digging the trailer. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vIu85WQTPRc
  6. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2012)
This is a really well done trailer that highlights the very best parts of the movie. It's just that it makes it seem like it will be way more grandiose than the movie actually is. Not a bad movie just a GREAT trailer. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=syWnuTK8OlU
  7. Prometheus
I was so pumped to see this like yesssss then I saw it and was like mehhhh

  8. The revenant.
All the dialog was in the trailer. The movie was actually just two hours of Leonardo Dicaprio grunting and saying "mah boy" in a Very Serious Manner (TM).

  9. Maleficent
It looked so beautifully dark and like it would actually take a villain's story seriously, but instead it turned out to be a goofy, schmaltzy, stale attempt at humanizing one of the most deliciously malevolent villains in Disney history. Not even a Lana Del Rey song could save it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ihgvGPlSkXE
