THOUGHTS I HAVE READING OF MICE AND MEN FOR THE FIRST TIME

  1. I feel like I have just crawled into a Joe Jones painting
  2. Isn't interesting how sometimes it's short stories like this which leave such an impact on the culture? (I never realized this was a novella and not a giant tome of a tale)
  3. Lennie: a large hard man who loves small soft things. Excellent set up for conflict
  4. This book is sad and so tender
  5. The story is so simple! And so good! I love me a complicated story, don't get me wrong, but I kindof feel like a few contemporary authors could take cues from this.
  6. I, too, love rabbits
  7. QUIT TELLING EVERYONE THE PLAN ABOUT THE FARM
  8. While rough around the edges, George is actually a great friend
  9. I am totally gutted over Lennie in the barn with the puppy 😭
  10. You know, I actually feel a little bad for Curly's wife
  11. Oh no oh no oh no oh no oh no
  12. When the rabbit apparition appears to Lennie 😭
  13. ~I am in a glass case of emotion~
