My Travels Over the Years {with Piccies ๐Ÿ“ท}

Inspired by @sally_lee {PLACES I HAVE BEEN} My travels aren't quite as experienced, but hey! That's what more traveling is for! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don't have pics for everything on this list because I have to dig up the memory cards haha, but yeah, I found as many as I could. :D

    ๐Ÿšข Bermuda (2003)
    Went to Bermuda aboard the Carnival Legend in 2003 with my parents and a big group of family friends for my dad's (then) 42nd Birthday. I was 13, and it was a great trip, though I think I'd appreciate such a trip more now as an adult. But of course I still loved and appreciated it then! :)

    More thoughts on Bermuda ~
    Because Bermuda is a British Overseas Territory, I had a blast running into people with Brit accents. It was during this trip that I also experienced riding [in a cab] on the left side of the road, and saw cars with different-looking license plates. Simple things yes, license plates, but they stuck out to me in particular, because we're very vain in America with our state & vanity plates. So it was different (and very cool) to me ~

    If you want to go shopping in Bermuda, Hamilton is where you go. There are many colorful buildings, too! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ There are many colorful buildings all throughout Bermuda, part of what makes it so unique, but yeah ~ ๐Ÿ˜Š

    Where our cruise ship was docked ~ Not too busy of an area, but very pretty. Had a vague "Pirates of the Caribbean" vibe to it ~ โ›ต๏ธ

    Bermuda Triangle โš ๏ธ
    Briefly crossed through the tip of it on a ferry going from King's Wharf to Hamilton. So you know what that means: I survived the Bermuda Triangle! ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜‹ I even got a t-shirt in one of the Hamilton shops to commemorate the eventโ€”it was the Survivor (TV show) logo with "Bermuda Triangle" on it. Looking back, doing so was probably a bit presumptuous, because I still had the trip back home to King's Wharf HAHA.

    Me with my survivor shirt on, lol. King's Wharf in the background.

    Random shop we stopped in (wish I could remember the name of it)
    One afternoon, mom and I wound up COMPLETELY lost. We popped into this little shop that was kind of like a dollar/party store to ask to borrow their phone for a cab. This cute older lady seemed a little unsure of us at first haha, but had someone call for us (so helpful because we really had NO idea where we were lmfao ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป). And by the time our cab arrived, we were all practically besties. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’• I'll never forget her enthusiastically discussing her fave TV show with us: "The Joe Schmo Show."

    Random deli we stopped in (again, wish I could remember the name of it)
    We bought sodas and things that all said "bottled in Bermuda" on the back of the label. Little things like that were cool to me, idk. The cashier had a Brit accent.

    ๐Ÿ—ฝ New York City (x2, 2007 & 2008)
    Been to the Big Apple twiceโ€”first visit was in 2007, the second in 2008. I was 17 & 18 years old respectively, and just wow. There's a reason for Alicia Keys' line in Jay Z's "Empire State of Mind" that goes, "These streets will make you feel brand new // Big lights will inspire you" - It's true! Everywhere I went, I felt inspired. It's a feeling you just can't understand unless you've been there, explains why many of the greats live/have lived there. A piece of my heart remains there.

    World Trade Center site
    The year I visited (2007), it was quite literally a hole in the groundโ€”the gorgeous memorial that's there today wasn't there then. I'll never forget setting foot onto the siteโ€”as soon as I did so, the volume of the bustling city around me seemed to fade to an eerie silence. I peered through the fence that was up to see nothing but construction going on, as I reflected on 9/11 and paid my respects. A memory etched in my mind are some rosary beads someone left intertwined in the fence.

    Central Park
    The horses were stinky, of course ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿด Didn't get to see as much of the park as I wanted to, there seriously is so much ground to cover in NYC I swear. It takes multiple trips to see everything. I wanted to stop by Strawberry Fields (John Lennon memorial), but didn't get a chance. One day.

    Neil Simon Theatre (Broadway)
    Saw "Hairspray," which looking back am even more glad about now, as it's not running anymore. The show was FANTASTIC. I hauled ass to the stage door afterward, and was lucky enough to be right against the guard rail in front of said door. I met everyone in the show that night, including Ashley Parker Angel (remember O-Town?), Alexa Vega, Jerry Mathers (Leave it to Beaver ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’•), and Paul Vogt (Mad TV). He was adorable hahahaha. He cooed at my little autograph book I had with me, he loved it! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’–

    The "Today Show" (x2)
    Marc Anthony was there in 2007. We heard him performing "I Need to Know" as we made our way over to NBC Studios. We ALMOST made it on TV, but the cameraman stopped short ha ๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜‚ Fun fact: there aren't seas of people all throughout the show like it seems. Saw Michael Bublรฉ (๐Ÿ’˜) in 2008, didn't sleep at all the night before to get a good spot. Felt dizzy later on, one of the crew guys pulled me out of the crowd and let me rest in the building. Saw Matt Lauer walk by, and mom ran into Ann Curry ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

    My mom and I ate hot fudge sundaes inside next to one of the big windows (it was summertime both trips) while watching an artist on the street below impress everyone with his awesome spraypaint paintings. We must've sat there for over an hour easily, just talking and watching this guy. The simple things, I tell you... ๐ŸŽจ

    Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2012)
    My trip to Philly was bittersweet. I lived there for a month, attending an intensive treatment program for my severe OCD, which I've suffered with my entire life. It had crippled me to the point that I feared leaving my bed, so needless to say, I needed help. It was a trying time, but a great time too, if that makes sense. There were tears because of where I'd been, but celebration because of where I was headed. It was a summer of healing, and I owe UPenn for helping me save myself ~ โ˜€๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๏ธ

The conference was a wonderful and healing experienceโ€”I learned a lot of valuable information, and even went to greet one of my doctors who pointed me to UPenn for my OCD treatment program :) After the conference, I had enough time to take a ride around the city and some of the different neighborhoods ~ I ate some delicious nachos too btw hahahaha ๐Ÿ’œ {iocdf(.)org}

    Went to AC for my 21st because duh, Vegas of the East Coast. Michael Bublรฉ was at Boardwalk Hall on June 11th, so the timing was PERFECT (my Birthday is June 7th). The concert was amazing of course, and I definitely gambled btw. Several times. I won $26 one time and immediately cashed out ๐Ÿ˜‚ Cha-ching! Found a casino card at a slot, and brought it to the front desk to be returned to its owner because I'd want someone to do the same for me ๐Ÿ˜Š The lady looked shocked haha. Honesty, man. It's rad.
