Cartoons That Are More Than Cartoons

Some toons earn a special place in our hearts.
  1. 1.
    Batman the Animated Series
Another show that appeals to both adults and children, BTAS takes you into the life a playboy philanthropist Bruce Wayne and his second life as crime fighting superhero Batman. The adventures, the villains and the callous and dark world of Gotham makes you hopeful for the Caped Crusader and his undying spirit to do good. ★ Recommended Episode: Heart of Ice
  2. 2.
    Samurai Jack
Inspired by the TV show "Kung-Fu" and the movie "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," it's obvious that Samurai Jack is a show that not only appeals to children but to adults as well. Humility and gentleness was Jack's distinguishing features and I believe that rubbed off on me. It's an emotionally driven work of art and the premise is genius: a samurai traveling through time to get back to the past and save the world.
  3. 3.
    Codename: Kids Next Door
If there was one cartoon that showed the wild times of being a kid, this was it. You just don't know what it means to grow up when you're a kid and the bittersweet moment of decommissioning showed us that being a kid and being an adult don't always have to be so different.
  4. 4.
    Teen Titans
The first rebels with a cause, the Teen Titans know what it means to lookout for one another. They have humor, heroics and make time for serious moments. Teamwork makes this dream work and friends make that last even longer. ★ Recommended Episode: How Long Is Forever?
