WHAT SHOULD I DO IN PHILADELPHIA?➕➕

Suggestions, please
  1. NOT the Liberty Bell
  2. Rocky steps outside the museum and the museum too of course!

  3. Look for Franklin Busy Bodies
Colonial-era devices with three mirrors attach to the outside of windows for residents on the second story to see who is knocking on their door without being seen. Invented by Ben Franklin

  4. The Barnes
Really amazing, but you have to get tickets ahead! I'm not even huge on museums and it was really worth it

  5. Elphreth's Alley
    Our nation's oldest residential street

  6. Tour a Trinity House
An architype unique to Philadelphia, these row homes once housed immigrant families with one family per floor. The steep winding stairs were in the closet. Find someone going into one and ask for a tour (works best if you are a nice old lady like my grandma)

  7. American Elms at Penn
Extinct across the country, few of these amazing trees remain. The ones that do exist are in isolated pockets that Dutch Elm disease hasn't affected. Penn has some nice ones, and right in front of College Hall, a serpentine stone building that is the oldest structure in West Philly and the home of The Addams Family

  8. The lobby of the Comcast building
My father is with me right now. He used to do business at Comcast HQ. He always talks about the amazing video screen in the lobby, open to the public.

  9. Vedge
Not just the most delicious vegan restaurant in America, but one of the best meals I've had in recent memory.

  10. Eat fried chicken at Federal Donuts. And doughnuts, duh.
