  2. 1775 - Author Jane Austen, who is know for the novel Pride and Prejudice, is born
  3. 1893 - Antonín Dvorák composed the "New World Symphony", otherwise known as "Symphony No. 9"
  4. 1965 - Gemini VI returns to earth after 16 orbits and almost 26 hours in space, Walter M. Schirra Jr., and Thomas P. Stafford returned to earth.
