My first Michelin Star ⭐️ restaurant - hell yeah I documented it.
  1. β€’
    Restaurant Story
  2. β€’
    Chef: Tom Seller
Inspired by Tom's culinary career and History of British food. Each dish inspired by a story...
  3. β€’
We, of course, went for the full-on tasting menu aka the full story and wine pairing.
Picture at the restaurant - this was my goal!
  4. β€’
Officially there are 11 course on the full story menu. However we were brought many 'snacks' and a couple of surprise course too.
Size of dishes were as expected for Michelin star. There was just so many dishes that we left very full (only complaint maybe too full).
  5. β€’
    The 'snacks':
I didn't take photos of all the snacks but you get a sampling
  6. β€’
Black pudding with burnt & diced pineapple
Didn't think this would work but I was proven totally wrong.
  7. β€’
Rabbit and tarragon mousseline with pickled carrot discs
  8. β€’
Chicken skewers, wild garlic and soy
    So yum!
  9. β€’
    Poached lobster claw and basil
  10. β€’
    Heritage tomatoes and vanilla
This had such intense flavours. I dream of this dish.
  11. β€’
    The courses:
  12. β€’
    Bread and dripping
Warm sourdough came in a leather pouch. For what? Why the candle that was lit a few minutes after we sat down...which is actually beef dripping and not wax at all 😱😱 (I know!).
  13. β€’
    Onion, Apple and old tom
  14. β€’
    Scallops, cucumber and dill ash
This was one of my favourite dishes
  15. β€’
    Surprise dish: bread and butter
Really it was still warm brioche, pickles and half a butter disc layered with normal, parsley & truffle butter and foie gras. This was πŸ˜ΆπŸ™ŒπŸΌ
  16. β€’
    Beef and ash
  17. β€’
    Heritage potato, beans and coal
My friends this was basically fancy mash but I would eat buckets of this.
  18. β€’
Wild stems, squid and mushroom broth
The wild stems in this dish were all foraged recently in Kent. Forager: Miles Irving.
  19. β€’
Think this was like the pre-dish to the next lamb course.
  20. β€’
Herdwick lamb, sheep's yoghurt and ramson
  21. β€’
    Picnic 1
What was in this picnic basket brought to our table?! Beer, cheeses, breads, chutney and fruits. 😊
  22. β€’
    Picnic 2
Cheeses: Lord of the Hundreds & Pablo Cabrito. Beer from local brewery 'Partizan Brewery: Saison Lemon & Thyme.
  23. β€’
(Side comment: Some cheese have the best names!! πŸ§€πŸ§€πŸ§€πŸ§€)
  24. β€’
Foie gras, English cherries and nasturtium
  25. β€’
Surprise course: Lemon 5 ways (palette cleanser)
    Lemon snow. Perfection.
  26. β€’
    Strawberry, sour milk and elderflower
So bloody pretty almost couldn't eat it - almost! That black pepper meringue πŸ™ŒπŸΌ!
  27. β€’
    Almond & Dill
Everything white is almond and everything green is dill. I'm not a dill fan but I can eat this all the time.
  28. β€’
    This was a huge glass
Just want to share that πŸ˜‚
  29. β€’
The whole meal took about 4 hours ⏳
Well worth it and I left a happy full bunny! 🐰

    Highly recommend a meal here.
I'm no food expert but I had fun and enjoyed the food and wine. So give it a go when your next in London Town.
