My Favorite Albums From Each Year I've Been Alive

Inspired by @victoriaedel. @dad3 I figured this would satisfy your "go to music" request 😊

1987 Fleetwood Mac: Tango in the Night. Fleetwood Mac was also my first concert when I was 11 and @HisDudeness got me this album for Valentine's Day a few years back.
  2. β€’
    1988 UB40: UB40. Red Red Wine enough said 🍷
  3. β€’
1989 Tone Loc: Loc-Ed After Dark. Funky Cold Medina🎡 Another funny story, when I met @HisDudeness on Craigslist his email was funkycolemedina....
  4. β€’
1990 Salt N Pepa: Blacks' Magic. Salt salt salt and pepas here!!! πŸ™‹πŸΌ
  5. β€’
1991 Trisha Yearwood: Trisha Yearwood. I knew and still know all the words to "She's in love with the boy." lived on a farm in PA as a little girl and still have that country heart πŸ’—
  6. β€’
1992 Rage Against the Machine: Rage Against the Machine. I knew the system was fucked at a young age πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ (there is no fist in the air emoji so this will have to suffice)
  7. β€’
1993 Sheryl Crow: Tuesday Night Music Club. A classic. When I discovered drinking beer🍻 at noon on Tuesday was a good idea...I was 6.
  8. β€’
1994 Tom Petty: Wildflowers 🌾🌷🌻🌸 My all time favorite TP. Honorable mention-Tori Amos: Under the Pink. I was a slightly disturbed child.
  9. β€’
1995 Alanis Morissette: Jagged Little Pill. Yes, I distinctly remember my mom buying this album for me at Ralph's in the check out line. Another example of my disturbed childhood...I was in 3rd grade.
  10. β€’
1996 The Fugees: The Score. Miss Lauryn Hill wasn't just the girl from Sister Act to me.
  11. β€’
1997 Third Eye Blind: Third Eye Blind. Every single song....
  12. β€’
1998 Manu Chao: Clandestino. Me gusta espanol.

1999 RHCP: Californication. CA GIRL + my husband looks like Anthony Kiedis = Duh.
  14. β€’
2000 *NSync: No Strings Attached. If I'm being 100% honest.
  15. β€’
2001 Incubus: Morning view. Favorite band. Every single song! 🌊
  16. β€’
2002 The Used: The Used. I will still listen to this when I'm angry, sad, or nostalgic.
  17. β€’
2003 The Postal Service: Give Up. This CD was always in my car! Thinking about blasting this album and learning the freedom driving provides brings back really good memories!
  18. β€’
2004 Kings of Leon: Aha Shake Heartbreak. Taper Jean Girl and so much more! Little didn't know years later they would write my wedding song.
  19. β€’
2005 All American Rejects. Move Along. I was having a really hard time picking between this and The Mars Volta. I think I listened to them almost equally. This one more so sums up my last year of high school and what us OC beach kids were listening to. MARS Volta was more my one foot out of high school and in the music scene with my 22 yr old bf.
  20. β€’
2006 RHCP: Stadium Arcadium. I saw them twice on this tour and they played with the Mars Volta!
  21. β€’
2007 Arcade Fire: Neon Bible. Funeral from 2004 is probably mv favorite album by them but this is a close second.
  22. β€’
2008 The Black Keys: Attack and Release. Saw them at Outside Lands that year and couldn't believe just 2 guys were making all that music!

  25. β€’
2011 RHCP: I'm with you. I named my car Maggie.
  26. β€’
2012 LDR: Born to die. Hubby bought me tickets to see her last year for my bday. Epic.
  27. β€’
2013 Foals: Holy Fire. This album is fantastic and these guys are totally blowing up now.
  28. β€’
2014 Vance Joy: Dream Away Your Life. I seriously love every song. Maybe because we saw him in a tiny rent at Coachella up close and personal, I swear I thought we were on VH1 storytellers.
  29. β€’
2015 Odesza: In Return (deluxe Ed.) Fucking obsessed.
  30. β€’
2016 It's too early to make a decision but the answer for now is: Not Kanye
