GREAT WRITERS W/ GOOD-NOT-GREAT PROSE

  1. Donna Tartt
  2. Tom Wolfe
  3. Dickens
  4. Film Crit Hulk
  5. Theodore Dreiser
  6. J.K. Rowling
  7. Dostoyevsky
I don't doubt it's better in a Russian but having peeked at a few translations, my sense is that dude saw prose as a means rather than end in itself, which is a valid belief prolly shared by others on this list.
