A positive list to counterbalance some of my more negative ones
  1. 1.
    My husband
He is close to sainthood. He is 9 years older than me & we always assumed he would die first & I might have to take care of him in his final years. If you have read some of my lists you know that we are in the opposite situation. He is 72 years old with heart disease & other serious conditions but he does everything to care for me. I am not bed-bound but I am close to homebound. Sure he has frustrations but mostly he remains positive & happy despite his burden. I love him with all my heart. ❤️

Living near my daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren
It's wonderful to be able to go to the children's events at school. We are there for the concerts, plays, the book fairs, and bake sales. We know some of their teachers, their friends, their neighbors, and classmates. We know most of our daughter's friends. We see our daughter and her family for their birthdays and ours. Our daughter's in-laws live in Colorado and we all get along. I feel comforted knowing that if something happens to me or my husband our daughter is nearby. ❤️

    My therapy tub
We bought this wonderful therapy tub. You have probably seen it on TV commercials. You open the door, walk in, and sit down. I have the tall one so when I fill the tub the water is almost to my shoulders. It has 6 back jets and 4 leg jets. I spend 60-75 minutes in the therapy tub almost every day. The water temperature is approximately 100°F. When I am in the therapy tub I have no pain most of the time. As soon as I get out the pain returns but it is not as severe as it was before I got in. ❤️

Colorado in all its beauty, seasons, and culture
Although I'm not a big fan of winter anymore, I do love to see the mountains covered in snow. Every season here is gorgeous. We live close enough that we can be in the mountains in an hour. We have Denver with its things to do. We have pro football, baseball, basketball, hockey, and soccer. We have lovely museums and parks and gardens. Denver and Boulder are liberal like me. We have good art and music and for those who like it we have craft beer. And weed is legal here if you like to use it. ❤️
  5. 5.
I love music. I don't know how you describe my music preferences. I definitely still love my 60s folk rock and rock. Bob Dylan, Donovan, Simon and Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills and Nash. And I love some newer artists too like Sia, Lady Gaga, Pink, and Taylor Swift (some, but not all). And some in between like Jewel. Music soothes me and makes me happy! ❤️

    My pets
We have two cats and a dog. The cats are rescued from the shelter. They are both black shorthairs. One has a white polka dot on her neck and the other has four white hairs. My dog is an adorable Australian Shepherd. She was supposed to be a mini Aussie but she grew to the size of a small standard Aussie. She is a true Velcro dog, always at the side of one of us. She is my registered emotional support dog and she really lives up to it and sticks by my side when I need her the most. ❤️
  7. 7.
    The sky
I love the sky wherever I am. Nothing helps me regain perspective like gazing into the sky! When I am very depressed and on the edge of the black hole sometimes I can pull out of it by watching the sky and going back to Carl Sagan's Pale Blue Dot video. The outdoors is where we started and where we return when our soul is ready to leave our body behind. Physical disabilities keep me inside more than I would like but a return outdoors can do wonders for my spirit. ❤️
  8. 8.
Somewhere along the way as I lived my life the best way I knew how at the time, I have made some wrong turns that have led me away from my true self. Social media has given me the opportunity to reconnect with old friends who inspired me so long ago and still do. I see myself moving closer to who I truly am rather than being the person I thought others wanted me to be. This does have some unhappy aspects as I see some of those closest to me now don't really know me yet. But they are learning. ❤️

    Being an empath
I have always been much more sensitive to the feelings of others than most people. People have been commenting about this as long as I remember. When I am in groups of people I can sense the feelings amongst the people. I can feel which people like and love each other, who is insincere, and who is hurting. Most of my life I was told it was a flaw and something I should "get over." But now I realize what a gift it is and how it helped me to become a better person, teacher, nurse, and friend.❤

This community means so much to me. I started out writing meaningless superficial lists. I didn't know what to expect. After reading lots of lists I realized I could write anything I want to here. It's an open forum. I began to write sincerely from my heart and then I began to get to know other people. This has been such a gift to me as a mostly homebound person. I am so grateful for all that you have given me, especially those who read this whole list! Thank you list community!❤
