How to Make a Blowout Last for 7 Days

  1. Go to a professional salon: the at-home blowout can never last for more than 4 days. It is one of the laws of physics.
  2. The Double Shampoo: when someone is washing your hair and they say you need a double shampoo, it is their way of telling you you are dirty, and this is the only way for them to de-grime your scalp and their memory of it.
  3. The Instructions: no product! Don't go near my hair with anything other than a comb. (Occasionally a heat protectant spray is permissible. Hair spray? Never!)
  4. Day 1: Clean and shiny! You tell yourself you won't really wait a week to do this again.
  5. Days 2&3: The best of the best. Kate Moss, eat your heart out. Messy, purposeful bed head.
  6. Day 4: Revive with dry shampoo.
  7. Day 5: More dry shampoo. Not so purposefully messy. Might need to be pulled into a bun by the end of the day.
  8. Day 6: You should really wash your hair today. But instead it's in a ponytail.
  9. Day 7: The Top Knot is the only thing that will do.
  10. Rinse and repeat.
