I ran into my boyfriend's ex girlfriend the other night

  1. We were out with friends, one was recently laid off so we had a night to take her mind off it
  2. We got word she might be coming from a friend
Separate from our group thing, she hadn't been invited
  3. Then apparently they weren't coming anymore
  4. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THEY WERE AT THE DOOR OF THE BAR
    AND WALKING IN
  5. I kept an eye on her the entire time
  6. The aforementioned friend who had been in contact with them went over to talk to them
HIGH ALERT HIGH ALERT SOON CONTACT MAY HAPPEN
  7. Boyfriend decides he needs another drink
    I agree
  8. Eventually he couldn't pretend that he didn't see them anymore
  9. So that meant I'd have to say hi soon as well
  10. So we made eye contact and I shook her hand
  11. And gave her the ol' "What was your name again?"
    BECAUSE I'M A CHILD
  12. And SHE DID IT BACK
    SHE KNOWS MY NAME
  13. We've technically met previously and it was real weird
Boyfriend and I had only met a week prior when he invited me to his birthday party at his house with all of his friends. I was fairly nervous so I drank a fair amount before I got there. While I was (thankfully) charming to all, I did meet the ex. She told me she had never seen him so happy with any other girl (nice, but a lot to hear after a week and not in a relationship yet) and then that he had previously been addicted to ketamine (this was false)
  14. So I also introduced myself to her new boyfriend
And he was super weird about it, waited an inappropriately long time after to give me his name and shake my hand
  15. And then promptly left the conversation
    Read above "I'm a child"
  16. Eventually they left to do their own thing
  17. But I kept my eyes open JUST IN CASE
  18. Then spent the rest of the time "throwing shade" at her
Which consisted doing terrible hair flips and making fun on her name
  19. And the friend responsible for the original interactions had the balls to say that my boyfriend was "handling his anxiety well"
YOU DID THIS! YOU ARE THE REASON THIS OCCURRED
  20. So what have we learned?
    I'M A CHILD
