I'm Juan in many. *rimshot* Ask away.
  1. If you had a time machine and could freely go anywhere in time, to when would you go first?
    Suggested by @andersun
  2. A: The 70s.
I think every cultural item I follow flourished then. I'd love to watch Easy Rider and Star Wars when they just come out, hear Hendrix shortly before his death, and just catch the vibe of the world.
  3. Would you rather spend a week in the mountains or a week at the beach?
    Suggested by @andersun
  4. A: week at the beach
But I'll follow it with a week at the mountains. :-)
  5. What's your writing ambition?
    Suggested by @andersun
  6. A: short stories book
I'm five short of the ten minimum I put myself to try to get them published. Most are in Spanish but I can translate like the wind. And I'm writing one that's almost a novella by now.
  7. If you could spend an all expenses paid 5 days in any city in the world, where would you go?
    Suggested by @andersun
  8. A: Yokohama
I love all things Japanese, and Yokohama has all the charm and less of the chaos of Tokyo.
  9. How did you get started making origami?
    Suggested by @andersun
  10. A: In second grade
A classmate taught me a jumping frog, and I was intrigued. Cut to sixth grade, my dad brought me some origami paper and traditional instructions. "This looks like something you'd like", he said. Cut to five years later, I find some origami in a children's encyclopedia in an aunt's house. I'm starting to get hooked. Cut to 1996: I'm at the gift shop of the American Museum of Natural History, and I find a whole lot of origami books and pick one by Robert Lang and Stephen Weiss. Haven't looked back
  11. Where did you go?
    Suggested by @andersun
  12. A: To my happy place
Wish I'd have a quicker wit.
  13. Did you start the plank challenge yet??
    Suggested by @amieshmamie
  14. A: What is this plank challenge you speak of?
Seriously, I'm psyching myself up for Monday. I'll keep you posted.
  15. Where are you from in Venezuela? I have been to Caracas, Maracay, a beach near Puerto Cabello, and to Maracaibo.
    Suggested by @julieann718
  16. A: Caracas, city of fury...
Ah, the beaches of Puerto Cabello. You have beaten me to one place. I love Maracaibo. Hope you come back when the country is in better shape.
  17. What's kept you from investigating poetry?
    Suggested by @Charlie_Chester
  18. A: I honestly have no idea.
I haven't been able too connect to it. Starting to try again, without forcing it. If it doesn't work, I'll simply admit poetry isn't my thing.
  19. What are your five favorite things about Japanese culture?
    Suggested by @andersun
  20. A: I'm going to assume besides origami. ;)
1.- The Bushido code. 2.- Their Living Treasures program. A group of experts in their cultural fields are given everything they need, as long as they teach their craft. 3.- Calligraphy. 4.- The way they integrate the natural world into their architecture. Especially in their gardens. 5.- Anime. <3
  21. Really? Anywhere in the time-space continuum future or past and you'd choose the 1970s? OK then... When is the second place you'd go?
(I lived through the '70s.... it wasn't that great.... 🙄)
    Suggested by @andersun
  22. A: hahaha... Ok I'd visit early Cretaceous western North America
And finally get disappointed when I hear the might T-rex... coo like a dove.
  23. What are your favorite kind (type? style? category?) of origami?
    Suggested by @andersun
  24. A: Living things
Mostly animals, and I love using banknotes. My absolute favorite is a technique called wetfolding, that allows softer folds. Vietnamese master Giang Dinh has the additional draw that he's a minimalist.
  25. First word that comes to mind?
    Suggested by @Charlie_Chester
  26. A: Faraway
(That is a single word, right?)
  27. Paper or laptop?

My latest has been growing in my notebook.
