OLD MOVIES THAT REALLY, REALLY HOLD UP
Movies that aren't just "good for their time" but that feel like they could've been made yesterday.
- •Some Like It HotPossibly my favorite movie of all time. Every single line is comprehensible, brilliant, and absolutely hilarious. I'm ashamed to say that I thought Marilyn Monroe was just a pretty face before seeing this movie--she is actually one of the most talented comedians I've ever seen. Watch. This. Film.
- •Breakfast at Tiffany'sReally really solid script and fantastic acting (at least by the women in the film). If you can overlook the HORRIBLE racist portrayal of the Japanese landlord, it's a film worth seeing, and rings very true emotionally. My favorite scene by far is the wild party--look out for the woman and the mirror.
- •The ApartmentIn my opinion, the most superb script of all time, filled with the best characters.Suggested by @SarahHalleCorey
