The more I've explored the world of film and television, the more I've enjoyed it. This is simply a list of movies and shows to watch featuring winners (or near winners) from the Golden Globes. If any of these people caught your eye, maybe you'll enjoy some of their other work!
  1. Oscar Isaac - Inside Llewyn Davis
Now he's a superstar thanks to Star Wars, but he also can sing a heck of a folk song. This Coen brother's film is depressing at times, but Isaac's battered folk singer is endlessly enthralling.
  2. Brie Larson - Short Term 12
This is honestly one of my favorite movies of all time. Larson plays a worker at a halfway home for troubled teens. It's heartbreakingly real, and Larson is incredible in the lead role. Rami Malek (Mr. Robot) also stars
  3. Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot showrunner) - Comet
Before he created Mr. Robot, Esmail directed this ethereal love story starring Justin Long and (Esmail's fiancée) Emmy Rossum. It's neurotic and nonlinear in the best ways, and it looks gorgeous. Streaming on Netflix
  4. Matt Damon - The Talented Mr. Ripley
Everyone loves Damon. Here he plays a shifty young man who dons the identities of other men. Clever and tightly written, also starring Jude Law and Phillip Seymour Hoffman. Also on Netflix (I think)
  5. Ryan Gosling - Drive
Gosling wasn't even nominated, but he was great in The Big Short. He's also great in Drive, a stylish neo-noir about a laconic getaway driver. So cool
  6. Idris Elba - Luther
Luther is super popular in England, but not nearly enough people have seen it here. It's beautifully shot and acted, and its killers' deranged psyches help elevate the show above similar killer-of-the-week fare
