1. Don't Try by Gerard Way https://youtu.be/JpF4fr_qjq8
I am really really digging this piece recently released by My Chemical Romance's lead singer, Gerard way right now. The rock bits are punchy, the lyrics are deep, the psychedelic tone is perfectly entrancing. Pointedly, for a musician who cares about sound production and cares about being more revealing and honest about the reality of everyday social anxiety, this song is IT for me right now.
  2. Tonight, Tonight by The Smashing Pumpkins https://youtu.be/NOG3eus4ZSo
By all means, this is just one of those oldies that has recirculated it's way back to the top of my playlist. I was listening to it the other day and it seemed to remind me so much how revolutionary some of the work that The Smashing Pumpkins did really was. All of the stuff they were doing in the 90's is so tinged in all that was to come in emo-rock in the 2000s, especially in lyrical composition. This song is no exception.
  3. Some to Watch Over Me by Willie Nelson
Now, this is probably one of the only times you'll see me post anything by Willie Nelson. But, I really don't want anyone to look at this post and take it any less seriously. The man is a legend. And, gives a shit about his music, and he gives a shit about people. And, that always comes out in his music. This piece, is an entirely new one. And, it really shows of that timeless spell his voice has begun to cast in his older age. I'll be honest, I thought "Louie Armstrong" when I heard this. Enjoy
