1. Contact your elected representatives about gun control.
  2. Find your representative in congress: http://www.house.gov/representatives/find/
  3. Here's their contact information: http://www.contactingthecongress.org
Tweet at them. Call them. Write a letter by hand. E-mail them.
  4. Remind them of the second amendment: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
  5. Point out that hundreds of mass shootings every year is not exactly indicative of a "well regulated" anything.
  6. Tell them we need universal mandatory background checks for gun owners.
  7. Tell them we need to lift bans on gun violence research. The CDC must be allowed to research gun violence and make recommendations.
  8. Tell them that gun violence is preventable.
  9. Tell them that gun owners should be required to regularly retake mandatory training and renew permits.
  10. Tell them to ban high capacity magazines and assault weapons.
  11. Tell them to pass the Youth Promise Act.
  12. Tell them that they represent you, not the NRA.
