THINGS I'VE LEARNED WITHOUT HEADPHONES FOR A WEEK

  1. I get asked for directions more often.
  2. I don't mind giving directions. It makes me feel important.
  3. I get approached by activists more often
  4. I hate activists even more.
  5. Apparently the homeless people in the park yell at me every time I jog by
  6. I like to make up songs to the rhythm of my footsteps.
  7. Children are even more annoying.
  8. People are singing on the bus, while walking far more often than I realized.
  9. I actually feel the quiet, collective anxiety of public transportation.
  10. People breathing.
