There Are Terrible People in the World, and There Are Wonderful People in the World

Thoughts after today:
  1. My friend Josh was on his way to meet me for breakfast when he got rear ended. The other driver looked Josh in the eye and then drove away.
I was incredibly angry and just overall disappointed in humanity after hearing this story, and it didn't even happen to me! I couldn't wrap my brain around the type of person who would do something like that.
  2. But then I talked to my Mom tonight, who is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia at City of Hope. She told me about this wonderful group of women called the Lipstick Angels who volunteer their cosmetology skills to visit outpatients during their chemo treatments, giving hand massages, mini facials and makeup tutorials.
My mom talked about what a simple joy it was to get a relaxing hand massage while chatting with these fantastically kind women, and seeing them make another lady's day by showing her how to use an eyebrow pencil. The Lipstick Angels get nothing out of this except for the satisfaction of brightening the day of someone going through a rough time. Just pure goodness.
