Three albums I can't stop listening to
I like music. I download music. I listen to music on my commute. I have strong opinions about music. Here are 3 albums that I like a lot.
- •A Special Episode EP - Open Mike EagleOME appears to be a hip hop snob (aficionado, advocate, etc.) He often makes references to the "art" of rap. While making it clear that his music is intelligent by talking about political matters, historical events and the like, he also does create a very artsy vibe for the listeners. The producer feature from Exile makes the project even more creative and listenable. 3.9/5 stars
- •The Getaway - Red Hot Chili PeppersI'll admit that, after the promised release of this album, I waited in nervous anticipation. I respect the peppers and wanted them to deliver. Did they ever. They used a brush stroke of funk on this soft rock album with riffs to make you dance transferring into harmonizing bridges to make you cry. They got creative but didnt stray from their comfort zone. They had composer features from the likes of Elton John and producer features from indie hip hop culture legend Danger Mouse. 4.1/5 stars
- •Lantern - Hudson MohawkeI won't say that this album is amazing. I think it is a creative take on electronic pop music with some quality originality from Hudson Mohawke and well placed features. The album has deep synth chords with catchy, high-pitched melodie patterns laced together with warped drums and trappy snares and hi hats. 3.1/5 stars
