Today, we had Lance Weiss, a CPA, join us to answer questions about filing taxes. Here's what we learned.
  1. The tax deadline this year is APRIL 18 this year, not April 15 like usual.
  2. For some Missouri residents living in counties impacted by flooding the deadline for state and federal taxes is actually MAY 16.
  3. If you received a health insurance form from your employer (1095-B or 1095-C), you don't have to file it. KEEP IT, though, in case the IRS asks for proof of health insurance.
  4. HOWEVER, if you received a 1095-A from the health insurance marketplace, you will need to file that with your taxes.
