Potable Water Legionella Control For Healthcare, Nursing Homes, Hotels and other Large Buildings

List of acceptable potable water Legionella control and prevention technologies
  1. AquaLyse® Copper Silver Ionization (long term)
Systemic with residual effects. Will treat biofilm to prevent or stop Legionella growth. For long term Legionella growth prevention and remediation in large facility potable water distribution networks . Ideal in hospitals, nursing homes and hotels. Excellent for both domestic cold or domestic hot water loops only. Small footprint, discreet, no smell, no danger, EPA registered http://copper-silver.info
  2. CSIDefender® Copper Silver Ionization (long term)
For healthcare facility and hotel long term Legionella growth prevention and remediation in large facility potable water distribution networks. Excellent for both domestic cold or domestic hot water loops only. Small footprint, discreet, no smell, no danger, EPA registered http://csidefender.com
  3. Chlorine dioxide (long term)
Chemical storage and mixing required. Ok for For long term Legionella growth prevention and remediation in large facility potable water distribution networks - hardware issues in most cases. Large area footprint. Requires good service contract for maintenance.
  4. Thermal Eradication (short term)
Normally only used in domestic hot water loop for short term Legionella remediation. Required to be done again every 3 to 5 weeks. Not intended for long term prevention. Scalding dangers
  5. Hyper Chlorination (short term)
Normally only used in domestic hot water loop for short term Legionella remediation. Required to be done again every 3 to 5 weeks. Not intended for long term prevention. Chemical exposure dangers. Smell, corrosion, high labor cost.
  6. UV Light (Not alone if possible)
No residual effect in building. will not treat biofilm found inside facility plumbing where Legionella can be found growing. Great when paired up with other systemic technologies such as copper silver ionization. Pre Filtration required to remove sediments in water.
  7. Magnets (Not!!)
This is not a recognized technology to treat for facility legionella growth prevention. Avoid!!
