Who Do You 'Ship?

Just in time for Valentine's Day, we're asking our readers to share their OTP (One True Pairing). What characters from pop culture do you hope end up together? Check out some staff answers below and then add your ultimate 'ships!
  1. New Girl's Nick & Jess
Even years later, I'm still reeling from the greatest sitcom kiss of all time, so I will never stop 'shipping New Girl's Nick and Jess. As fun as they were as a couple, show runner Liz Meriwether ripped them apart. I still don't get the breakup: Nick is a pragmatic, lovable fuckup; Jess is a flighty, lovable fixer. It was perfect (Gwen Ihnat)
  2. The Force Awakens' Poe Dameron & Finn
Even aside from the social progress it would represent (a mixed-race gay couple at the center of the biggest movie ever!), Poe and Finn just have such easy chemistry together. As so many things in Episode VII parallel Episode IV, their meet-cute echoes that of Han and Leia, with the rescued quickly becoming the rescuer, as they flirt and banter while running for their lives. (Mile Vago)
  3. Mad Men's Peggy & Stan
The 'ship I've been most invested in on TV over the past several years is without a doubt Peggy Olsen and Stan Rizzo on Mad Men. Throughout the series' run, the two shared crackerjack chemistry, and as Peggy kept making terrible choices, it was impossible not to notice the deepening friendship and overall rightness of her connection with Stan. (Kate Kulzick)
  4. U2's Bono & The Edge
A few years ago I lamely tried entertaining me wife during a road trip by singing U2's "Beautiful Day" as "It's a beautiful Edge!" It made me realize how awesome it would be if Bono and The Edge became a couple after all these years - and if all of Bono's love songs were secretly about his longtime guitarist. Just think of the possibilities: "With Or Without Edge," "Sweetest Edge," "Mysterious Edge," etc... (Jason Heller)
  5. Dev and Rachel - Master of None

  6. Bellamy and Clarke (The 100)
Bob Morley and Eliza Taylor have excellent chemistry. These two characters are just better and more interesting when they are doing things together. I don't even need them to kiss (yet). I just want them to be able to talk to each other.

  7. Lane and Dave - Gilmore Girls
They're the absolute cutest. Dave was such a good guy and so perfect for Lane. Even her mother approved!! Ugh it still makes me so sad that they didn't end up together

  10. Outlander's Jamie and Claire
Jamie and Claire (Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe) have the most explosive chemistry of any TV couple perhaps ever. Their smoldering looks! The significant touches! The exquisitely-shot love scenes! And not only that! Their relationship is built on trust and care. They learn from and challenge each other. They respect each other as equals. And to top it all off, the show gives us their relationship largely from her perspective, which paints everything in the light of the female gaze. 😻😻😻

  11. The X Files - Mulder and Scully
I get pregnant every time these two exchange soft, meaningful looks, whisper close together, gently touch, or otherwise silently express how much they love each other. I have been pregnant 69 million times.

  16. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing
"I don't want to sound gloomy, but, at some point of your lives, every one of you will notice that you have in your life one person, one friend whom you love and care for very much. That person is so close to you that you are able to share some things only with him. ... And then when that person is gone, there will be nothing like that in your life ever again." 😫
