MOVIES WATCHED IN 2017

A running list of watched new-to-me movies
  1. 1.
    Arrival (2016): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I went in blind into this movie and while I sort of cottoned on to the reveal halfway, it didn't distract me from the quiet tragedy and joy of choices. A tad slow at times, I really like how the scenes were allowed breathe and fill the spaces. Trademark Denis Villeneuve.
  2. 2.
    Hacksaw Ridge (2016): ⭐️⭐️
I have a kink for war movies and I really want to like this. But. This movie is one of the most scene-by-number movie that I've watched recently. Ok, and ever. It's a big draggy. Yeah. I do want to like it a lot but I'm... 😐
  3. 3.
The Last Witch Hunter (2016): ⭐️⭐️
It was not bad really. It was rather plotty, Rose Leslie is pretty, and Elijah Wood is still a hobbit (albeit really lost and misguided, and what a way to end). And Vin Diesel man; I just can't unsee him in other than the F&F franchise.
  4. 4.
    Hidden Figures (2016): ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a lovely movie. I love the soundtrack, and how it complements rather than distract. The leads are amazingly acted and the actual women phenomenal. Just ❤️
