I moved to London form NY a couple years ago, but recently have been spending a lot of time stateside. These are bits of the Queen's English that I've adopted. (Ironically, these are probably words the queen would never say)
  1. FLAT instead of apartment
  2. and therefore FLATMATE instead of roommate
  3. router (like for wifi) pronounced ROOTER instead of rowter
  4. TAKE AWAY instead of take-out
  5. TOP UP instead of refill
  6. PAVEMENT instead of sidewalk
  7. RUBBISH instead of garbage
