If you're trying to get in the mood for Halloween, here are some movies that might fall under that "horror/thriller" category, but are more fun than scary to watch.
  1. Zombieland
    747d204d 6dd9 41fa ae02 be7807428941
Killing zombies, hunting for Twinkies, and hanging with a Ghostbuster. This movie is nothing but a good time.
  2. Young Frankenstein

Mel Brooks is always funny. Don't be fooled by the fact that this movie is "old," it holds up great. If you are a sucker for silly comedy, this one's for you.
  3. Shaun of the Dead
    386bebe3 4693 4236 8b04 f1754b472e69
I don't swear by these Edgar Wright movies like others do, but this movie is a good twist on the zombie film.
  4. Attack the Block
    30561348 17d1 4307 a4b4 1fd45ed0c50c
A bunch of inner city kids battle an army of dark alien beasts. This movie is another blend of horror and comedy and could be described as a hybrid of Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead.
  5. The Cabin in the Woods
    1e4813cc dfc4 46c7 9864 cc3e92be42ee
If you've seen a lot of horror movies, you'll enjoy this one. It plays on all the horror movie tropes in a smart and unique way. Check it out if you haven't seen it.
  6. Scream
    Fada2064 446b 472e 9960 b2a88e2cff17
This is personally my favorite movie on the list. Even one of my favorite movies of all time. Wes Craven blends the genres of horror and comedy to perfection. It's definitely worth a watch anytime of the year, but especially in October.
  7. Ghostbusters
    F250d0ad f2c7 43a1 9cdb 9b07c8f6515e
Just watch it if you haven't seen it.
