Things I'm Into This Week

  1. Despair
Just the general feeling, not the book or movie or whatever (but if there is such a book or movie, let me know if it's good). And to be fair, I'm into it most weeks, not just this particular week. Currently, my favorite flavor of despair is the one where I wake up in the morning and my first thought is, "Hey, I guess I haven't ceased to exist...yet!"
  2. Amazon Prime free same-day delivery
I may or may not be overdoing my online shopping just a little. I have a new baby, so there are plenty of legitimate opportunities to shop for diapers, wipes, formula, etc. However, this week I have already said unironically, "You know, I really need a new milk frother today."
  3. Self-doubt
Again, I'm cheating. Self-doubt is my every week jam. One of my favorite kinds is the one where I say to myself, "You know, I'm really not particularly good at being a human person."
  4. Existential Angst
    See despair
  5. Million Dollar Listing: New York
I love me some outrageously gaudy real estate, arrogant yet entertaining real estate agents, and completely contrived interactions. No, really, I do.
  6. Invisibilia
The podcast. Very thoughtful and well produced. Strong start to its second season.
  7. Sitting quietly in darkened rooms
I mean, it doesn't get much better, does it?
  8. Magners
The cider. Excellent in darkened rooms and when you're not quite ready to go to bed. Reminds me of living in England. Sorry about the Brexit guys, but at least you still have Magners. Even if it's Irish.
  9. The fact that my 2-year-old's parent-child swim lessons end this week
This is by far the number one thing I'm into this week. The torture is almost over! And when the instructor asks if we're ready to sign up for the next session I'll be all like...
