How to have a very pleasant Saturday alone in NYC

(Or, what I did yesterday)
  1. 1.
Don't set an alarm and wake up when your body wants to
    ~Feelin' good~
  2. 2.
Take your sweet time getting ready - no one's waiting for you!
  3. 3.
Put on that new skirt that makes you look interesting enough to get stopped by Humans of New York
But pray that Humans of New York never actually stops you because you'd probably end up talking about why Christian Bale is your favorite actor and say nothing profound
  4. 4.
    Make your signature lunch
(Trader Joe's veggie masala burger in case you're wondering)
  5. 5.
Head to the subway and find that there are no delays and no crowds
  6. 6.
Pop into the bank to deposit your first paycheck from your new job
  7. 7.
Stroll over to the @strandbookstore to sell some books
Get that sweet, sweet store credit
  8. 8.
Stop into Peacefood Cafe for some coffee and banana bread...
  9. 9.
...while reading the copy of The Girls that you won on Goodreads
This book is so good you guys, the hype was absolutely right
  10. 10.
Almost have a meet-cute at CVS with the guy who joins you in your desperate search through the dismal selection of Fathers Day cards
Decide against striking up a conversation because he's wearing bright yellow chubbies shorts
  11. 11.
Go back to the Strand because they definitely have Fathers Day cards
Buy one, along with ten items to put in a care package for your camp counselor friend
  12. 12.
Walk through the Union Square Greenmarket
Sample some iced mint & maple tea along the way
  13. 13.
Decide to walk the 20 blocks back home because you're feeling energized!
  14. 14.
Stop into Fishs Eddy to check out a mug and immediately walk out because they - a DISH STORE- are playing the Hamilton soundtrack and you're still holding out hope that you'll win the lottery and be able to see Hamilton one day and you don't want to know any of the music beforehand
    I'm fine, I promise
  15. 15.
Get stopped on the street by a couple who want to know if there's a basketball court in Bryant Park and tell them no, there isn't, but there's ping pong if that interests them?
Watch as they legitimately shriek with excitement and run into the park
  16. 16.
Get home and immediately put on your pajamas
  17. 17.
Eat dinner while watching The Wire
Cry "really, Jimmy??" into your risotto at least three times
  18. 18.
Take a personality test for work that tells you you're really empathetic and almost makes you cry with gratitude
This test includes the statement: "tears are a large part of my life" (strongly agree)
  19. 19.
Snuggle up in bed and watch a video of a cat dancing to What Is Love like ten times
  20. 20.
Fall asleep satisfied with a day well spent!
    Being alone is underrated!
