ALL THE BOOKS I'VE STARTED AND ABANDONED THIS YEAR/HOW TO END A READING FUNK

  1. Furiously Happy
Non fiction, no matter how quirky, just can't keep me engaged.
  2. Zazen
    Depressing - not my jam.
  3. Year of Yes
I'm loving this but it's racking me up some serious library fines. I'll check it back out in a month or so.
  4. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell
I know I'll like this one if I really dig in but I haven't had the time or mental focus lately. I plan on getting back to this one.
  5. Needless to say I'm in a reading funk.
  6. I feel lost and defeated when I'm not deeply involved with a book.
  7. Here's how I'm going to break this horrible cycle:
  8. I'm going to read a short(ish) fiction book.
  9. Because that is what I love.
  10. And I know I'll finish it.
  11. And probably love it.
  12. My book club chose The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.
  13. I bought it today!
  14. I almost never buy new books.
  15. So this way there is no library pressure.
  16. Just the book club pressure which is good pressure.
  17. And I can write in the book!
  18. And highlight!
  19. And dog ear!
  20. I've already read three pages AND I'M LOVING IT.
  21. Beautiful words.
  22. Beautiful imagery.
  23. Save me, Margaret.
