7 'DOCUMENTARY NOW' EPISODES, RANKED

I'm pretty much a sucker for anything Fred Armisen or Bill Hader do, so I enjoyed all of these episodes from the first season of Documentary Now. Ranked by how much I found them to be perfect and hilarious.
  1. 1.
    A Town, A Gangster, A Festival
An Iceland town celebrates an American gangster. This episode is so well done I wondered if it was a parody or a real event with some nice guest stars crashing the festival.
  2. 2.
    Kunuk Uncovered
There is so much packed into this episode that is docu-perfect but the stuff about Hollywood and filmmaking slays me.
  3. 3.
Gentle and Soft: The Story of the Blue Jean Committee: Part 1
The guest experts are outstanding. The story is perfect. The music is spot-on. I know because I was there.
  4. 4.
Gentle and Soft: The Story of the Blue Jean Committee: Part 2
  5. 5.
    Sandy Passage
It takes a dark turn. A dark and hilarious turn.
  6. 6.
    The Eye Doesn't Lie
The Thin Blue Line and an unsolved murder. And a balloon guy.
  7. 7.
DRONEZ: The Hunt for El Chingon
Finding a Mexican Drug Lord. With a bunch of wannabe online hipster doofuses.
