Andrew Rannells Roles, Ranked

The first time I saw Andrew Rannells onscreen, I was amazed. How could a guy who looks like the old comic strip hunk Li'l Abner have such a smart, self-deprecating way of delivering the most cutting jokes?! He's a one-of-a-kind comedic force, and now that Judd Apatow is developing a Rannells movie, the whole world is gonna get onboard.
  1. 1.
    Girls, "Elijah"
I don't know if this character was created with Rannells in mind, but hard to imagine otherwise. Vulture called him the show's "comedic MVP" who "gets all the best lines." Always exciting when a show figures out the exact, perfect use of an actor.
  2. 2.
    The New Normal, "Bryan"
Rannells was cast as Glee creator Ryan Murphy's doppelgänger on this NBC sitcom. This is where I first saw Andrew and thought, "Wow - he's doing stuff that goes back to Bob Hope and Jack Benny."
  3. 3.
    Book of Mormon, "Elder Price"
Anyone else who ever has or ever will take on this role will be stuck with imitating Rannells.
  4. 4.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch, "Hedwig"
Ranked last because I didn't get to see it. (Sometimes I wish I lived in NYC.)
  5. 5.
BONUS ITEM: Here's a picture of Li'l Abner so you can see I'm not kidding about how much Rannells looks like him!
