EXCELLENT FOREIGN LANGUAGE VERSIONS OF SONGS

  1. Seu Jorge's Portuguese versions of David Bowie songs for Life Aquatic
Most notably "Life on Mars" and "Changes"
  2. Umberto Tozzi's Italian "Gloria"
Fun fact: Laura Branigan's popular version in English is actually the cover. The Italian is the original song.
  3. Gipsy Kings' Spanish "Hotel California"
The Eagles obviously kill it with this song, but the Spanish version rocks in a totally different way. You'll recognize the cover from the bowling scene in The Big Lebowski.
  4. Gipsy Kings' Spanish version of "You've Got a Friend in Me"
This version closes out Toy Story 3. It's a different take on the Randy Newman song that started it all.
  5. Harry Nilsson's Spanish version of his own song "Without You" - "Si No Estas Tu"
Same song. Same great voice. Excellent Spanish version.
  6. Blondie's French version of their own "Sunday Girl"
Great version. Super fun in French.
  7. The multi-language version of "Let it Go" from Frozen
This is a gem. All of the women who rocked this song in 25 languages in one recording. Disney really showed off a lot of talent when they put this recording together. Most Disney songs are recorded in multiple languages, and this version is a treat. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BS0T8Cd4UhA
  8. Nena's 99 Luftballons, the German version of the 99 Red Balloons.
This song is amazing on English and German.

  9. This crazy German version of Black Sabbath's "Paranoid," with new lyrics about the Hound of the Baskervilles.

  10. "Cette Année Là" by Claude François, a French version of "December 1963 (Oh What a Night)" by the Four Seasons
The French love this tune. I believe there are three different French versions of it. However, this one wins for the inclusion of a wide-ranging selection of 1960s pop-culture references, not to mention one hell of a dance routine. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xtWS6jkKP5M

  11. Chairlift's Japanese version of their song "I Belong in Your Arms."
SO GOOD. Also, the music video made me seriously consider getting splashlights: http://youtu.be/6RRc0T3l1Co
