QUEEN UTA A.K.A. THE FIERCEST CLOAK GAME IN HISTORY

  1. Queen Uta (Naumburg tomb)
Along with that other dude, her husband. But who cares about him?
  2. I mean LOOK at that cloak action
Her hand inside the cloak clutching it at her face.
  3. And the gathered side cloak
    Perfection.
  4. Everything about this look is on point.
  5. Fabulous crown.
  6. That expression? It says who's really in charge.
  7. Some have tried to steal her look.
  8. But they simply can't compare.
  9. I always found her to be a stunning work of art. The way she stands, regal and commanding, with her cloak wrapped around her. And so beautiful.
This is the bookmark my dad painted for my mom 35 years ago of Uta. I was first introduced to the sculpture as a kid flipping through my mom's Bible and admiring the beautiful queen.
  10. I mean, don't we all wish we could rock a cloak so well?
    I know I'm jealous.
  11. So here's to you Uta: killin' in the cloak game since the year 1000.
(sculpture is 13th cent., but Uta lived from 1000-1046)
