1. Yesterday was a be-yoo-tee-ful day here in good ol NJ
  2. Clear, sunny, warm enough to want to be outside but a little too chilly to just sit still outside
  3. And I had NO PLANS whatsoever, and my brain was super stressed out so I convinced my dad to go hiking around 3pm
    This wasn't hard, he goes for a hike pretty much every weekend
  4. So we headed out to Sussex County, to High Point State Park to do a section of the Appalachian Trail
  5. Most of the trees aren't green yet 😕

  7. It really helped me to clear my head
  8. Just walking, concentrating on the ground,
  9. Focusing on each step, where to put my foot down, how my hips connect to my knees to my ankles to my toes, all to move me forwards
  10. Focusing on my breath, in out in out, and how each breath connects to each step
  11. It wasn't a particularly difficult hike, but for the two and a half hours we were out there, there was nothing else to think or worry about
  12. And when we got back to the car I felt refreshed, like I had accomplished something, like I hadn't wasted the day (or my life)
