My favorite things to listen to lately
  1. Echo Chamber - Mike D
As in Beastie Boys. He has a guest on every episode. All epic. Like Kim Gordon for example. And he plays music sort of influenced by his guest and his guests get to pick songs too. And then they discuss the music, exchange life stories, make jokes. It's the best.
  2. St. Vincent's Mixtape Delivery Service
I mean, yes, it's as unbelievable as it sounds. Basically someone writes Annie Clark a letter each week with a topic for a mixtape request and she then talks to the person on the phone, asking questions related to the topic at hand, getting to know them a little bit, and the show is a customized mixtape for this person. Her 1st episode is an 11 yo girl, then there's a girl preparing for a road trip with her badass ex truck driving grandmother and so on and so forth. St. Vincent is a goddess.
  3. Time Crisis - Ezra Koenig
Ezra Koenig (Vampire Weekend) has a show where he plays really good music and discusses it, for the most part, with his friend Jake Longstreth. He dissected Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah in a recent episode. He also discusses politics and random things like the Frito Lay Corporation (surprisingly interesting history). He's smart, knowledgeable, hilarious.
