Working on falling back in love with reading again. Hopefully this will become a long list. (Only including books read for the first time, not rereads.)
  1. The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
Loved it overall, but found the poetic language distracting at times and felt a tad betrayed by the ending. Also this was scary as hell to read considering our current political/social climate. Too possible. 👀
  2. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Did not like. It started out way too slow (almost didn't finish tbh), the writing was not great for the most part (so pretentious oh my god, and randomly inserting "big words" is annoying, like did you just google for synonyms and pick the least common???), and I hated how it ended with them still being right for each other. Like don't glorify and romanticize this toxic relationship by saying they complete and (albeit hesitantly) need each other. Get out.
