Movies I have experienced for the first time in 2017 🎥 ✨🍿
  1. Allied
Honestly enjoyed this one a lot. It was really pretty to look at and I was entertained the whole time. And as @maklang pointed out, "very very SESUAL" *Liz Lemon voice*
  2. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot
I don't know how I didn't see this when it came out because I love Tina. But we decided on a whim to watch this tonight and I really enjoyed it. Heartbreaking and funny all at once - kinda like life I guess.
  3. The Girl Next Door
Inspired by @sarahmccoy 's list because I too love dumb movies. And I had never seen this one!! I enjoyed it thoroughly 🤷🏼‍♀️
  4. Take Me Home Tonight
An homage to 80s movies that almost makes you believe it was actually made in the 80s. Also? How does Topher Grace still look like he's 23 when he is nearly 40?
  5. Hidden Figures
I finally saw it and it slayed me. I cried, of course. I applauded, obviously. I wanted to go out and change the world by telling important stories. So so good.
  6. Beauty and the Beast
I went by myself to see this one. I was sandwiched between two extra lovey-dovey couples but I didn't care. This movie was magic. I got tears in my eyes, laughed out loud, and applauded throughout - couldn't help myself!! So gorgeous, so moving, such a beautiful rendition. Bravo!!!
  7. Kong: Skull Island
I went into this movie with zero expectations. I hadn't even seen a preview and I've never watched any other King Kong movies. I enjoyed it though! Unexpectedly funny!! Though I didn't *SPOILER* sign up for giant spiders and lizard things that will def be in my nightmares. Also, I think I finally get the Tom Hiddleston thing. He was so attractive to me in this.
  8. Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Mindless fun. I laughed a lot. Baby Groot is the cutest animated thing ever. I love Chris Pratt.
  9. 28 Days
I love Sandra. Young Viggo Mortenson is reeeally hot. I cried. I laughed. I dunno, I think I liked it. Though the ending was a bit abrupt
  10. Wonder Woman
This movie was INCREDIBLE. I could NOT stop screaming throughout. Honestly, afterwards I was like I AM AN AMAZON. I AM A WARRIOR. I CAN AND WILL FIGHT FOR LOVE. It was so so good. She is tender-hearted and fierce all at once. Ugh. So good.
  11. Sing Street
I finally saw it. Beautiful and funny and sad and I can't stop listening to the songs. DRIVE IT LIKE YA STOLE IT. My sister got us all to watch it. Gem.
  12. Lego Batman
I just made the longggg journey from Singapore to Alabama which means long flights where I don't sleep which means lots of new movies for me! I actually loved this one. I didn't like the Lego Movie (I know I know, blasphemy), but this made me laugh out loud several times.
  13. Catch Me If You Can
Somehow I had never seen this one? It was very different than I expected, but it was good.
  14. The Edge of Seventeen
It was so good. Hailee Steinfield was so good. It was heartbreaking and funny. And of course, I always love Woody Harrelson.
  15. The Nice Guys
This movie was absolutely ridiculous. Like??? What was even happening???? Hahaha. It was so weird. But Gosling was funny and Crowe was actually really likable. Also I just realized both of their last names are birds???
  16. Baywatch
Oh it was SO DUMB. But I went to see it with @maklang so we had a good time. 😂😂
  17. The House
Ridiculous. I laughed but also screamed because BLOOOD.
  18. Baby Driver
I had no idea what this movie would be like, but it was just a really good movie. The way music and sound was integrated into the movie was so interesting and the story was sort of surprising. I would see it again! It was the most fun I've had in awhile at the theater!
  19. Spider-Man Homecoming
Tom Holland: the Peter Parker we deserve. In love with this new cast. I'm in love with Zendaya as MJ. This movie made me so happy.
  20. Florence Foster Jenkins
Oh this movie was too heart warming. "People may say I couldn't sing, but they can't say I didn't sing."
  21. Table 19
Just ok. Not really what I expected. Some parts were pretty good.
  22. Burnt
Ehhhh I mean...going for your third Michelin star isn't as compelling as you think it is, Bradley Cooper.
  23. Kingsman
Oh my gosh this was so fun. Perfect plane movie. I laughed out loud. The story line was ridiculous and self aware.
  24. Love & Other Drugs
I had the wrong idea about this movie my whole life. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I really really liked it. Jake Gyllenhaal, how are you soooo attractive??
  25. Brain on Fire
I had read the book before I watched this. It freaked me out even more seeing it visually.
  26. Wet Hot American Summer
