TIMES I HAD TO BE A RESPONSIBLE ADULT AND IT MADE ME UNCOMFORTABLE

  1. Yard duty at a primary school
Thrown into it without any instruction at my new job (please note that I am not a teacher so had not been training for this), when a strange man just wonders into the playground with his small child and lets the kid start playing and I stood there for five minutes watching them going "it's probably my responsibility to deal with this. And not let strangers just walk into the school. Ok let's rehearse in my head what to say."
  2. Leading a fire evacuation
I was a new uni tutor, which is intimidating enough, but the first time in my entire four years at uni a fire alarm goes, I'm the one in charge of the class. Of course I had no idea what to do and had to wing it and pretend like I knew where we were supposed to go (there was someone to follow. We made it out).
  3. Paying bills when my parents were away
I only had to do like two bills and of course I managed to miss one AND like two late notices for it. And when I called up to sort it out, I accidentally signed my parents up to a new contract. And then when I tried to cancel it later they wouldn't let me because I WASN'T ONE OF THE ACCOUNT HOLDERS.
  4. Negotiating a salary/wage
God I am part of the cause of the gender pay gap
