...BUT THE BEST PART ABOUT MY WEEK IN NEW YORK WAS...

  1. FU'ing ISIS
The terrorists thought they could hold me down, but we decided to fly our design team out to NY for a shopping/inspiration trip and then throw a party in the city. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  2. Checking in on The Hundreds New York.
Our NY flagship is in SoHo across from Alexander Wang. All our stores are different and share a unique perspective on Time. This one is in a historical district, so we incorporated much of the existing architecture into the buildout. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  3. Russ & Daughters' lox in the morning.
The bagels aren't much to write (or send) home about, but their lox is on LOCK. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  4. Shopping for sneakers at the new Stadium Goods
Like old-school Flight Club days. They've got it all, including a showcase of Air Mags, Undefeated Jordan IVs, and original Carmines. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  5. Eggplant parmigiana at Parm.
A little burnt and crispy around the edges - made for a quick bite before kicking off the evening. Had La Esquina and M Shanghai in Brooklyn this week also. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  6. Visiting New York's hottest new Streetwear/Menswear boutique,
NOAH. Ran into founder/creator Brendon the night before and things sound up for Supreme's former Creative Director. I can't imagine the magnifying glass he must be under, but this first collection looks promising, and I foresee a long and formidable legacy for his brand. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  7. Catching Travis Scott at Barclays.
The 6:30 opening slot was an adventure getting to in rush hour, but caught the full set, and loved every moment of it. Dude knows how to put on a show. For those who don't know, this is Kanye behind Kanye. The Rihanna behind Rihanna. And in front of Rihanna too, apparently. She was offstage waiting for him. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  8. Witnessing a phenomenon.
The last time I saw Abel perform was his first Coachella sunset performance years ago. Much has changed since the Toronto-based unknown American Apparel store employee broke the Internet.
  9. I'm never missing another The Weeknd tour.
Alright, getting to dance between Barbara Palvin and Vinny from Entourage may have also skewed my experience. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  10. Running into the lil' homie Jay Worthy.
Lots of music happenings happening. Jay's in town for his record release party for his rap group, LNDN DRGS (under Fool's Gold) - you may have been seeing them pop up a lot on Vice/Noisey. Jay's sister has also made some headway in the music space (Grimes); now, it's time for this Piru to get his shine. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  11. The Hundreds presents SPITSET.
'til 4am at the obscure and appropriately weird China Chalet dim sum restaurant. We throw this party monthly with rapper Alexander Spit at random venues around LA and SF. This time, we hit NY. The goal is to showcase who's on deck from the music underground. We've introduced Warm Brew, Father, Jazz Cartier, and Overdoz in the past. 12. The Ratking boys top off the night.
Wiki and Sporting Life, two of New York's most talked-about young rap artists. The next Lil' Kim (can I say a better Lil' Debbie?), Donmonique, riled up the room. But the best part about my week in New York was...
  13. Reading this on the flight home.
But the best part about my week in New York was...!!!!
  14. MEETING DANA IRL
YES. @DanaDigsYou is a real person with a mellifluous podcast voice and illustrious grown-up career. We talked about the state of the publishing industry, what it takes to get a book deal, and lots of @tombatten. I know The List App's value lies primarily in its content, but it's the community that holds the power. If you ever have the opportunity to meet Dana IRL, I highly recommend it. This was the best part of my week in New York.
