I love horror movies and I love Halloween, but just any horror movie doesn't necessarily make a good Halloween movie. The movie needs to actually feature Halloween in some capacity. I'm only including movies here and not TV specials such as It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.
  1. Trick'r Treat
  2. Halloween III: Season of the Witch
  3. Hocus Pocus
  4. Walt Disney's The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
I'm of course referring to the Legend of Sleepy Hollow half of this package film.
  5. Monster House
  6. John Carpenter's Halloween
  7. E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial
While most of the movie has little to do with Halloween, it does have a promo ones Halloween scene that perfectly captures going out for a night of trick or treating. This is also my favorite movie of all time.
  8. Meet Me in St. Louis
Like E.T., this one only features a Halloween scene but it's one of the best there is. While this movie often gets classified as Christmas because of the song and conclusion, the Halloween scene is just as prominent.
