Growing up, all my friends were white, everyone on TV was white as could be. As a young, externally non-white person, and until too recently, I thought some things might not be for me.
  1. Yoga
  2. J Crew
I'm glad I know I can wear this now, because I love crew necks and collars.
  3. Sailing
    When would I go sailing...
  4. Exercise in general
You ever see Asians jogging? Me neither.
  5. Poetry
Ol' T.S. didn't think his words would be read and adored by someone who looked like me
  6. Being an actor
    Auditions, musicals, choreography??
  7. Beats by Dre
I've never seen someone who isn't a white boy wear these
  8. Classic Rock
    Bob Dylan etc
  9. Swearing at your mom
Jesus, Spencer, if I spoke to my mom that way, I would no longer have the ability to speak
  10. Divorce
Found this one out the hard way!
  11. YouTubing
I do not have blonde hair :(
  12. True love?
That is for two, upstairs, pale-skinned people
  13. Being asked if I need a fork at Asian restaurants
This has yet to happen to me.
  14. Camping
"Go sleep outside without working toilets and bugs for company? People do that?!"

  16. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
This sounded absurd to my Filipino mother, so we never ate this growing up. I was the one kid in class who always had rice for lunch 🙋🏻
